Here is the honest scope of our expertise: we are experts in puns, not in reptiles. Nobody on this team is a marine biologist or a veterinarian. What we are good at is spotting the phrase that hides a “shell” or a “bray,” testing whether it actually lands, and organising thousands of lines so you can find the right one in seconds. When real animal facts come up, we cite the specialists instead of pretending to be them.

How we actually build these lists

Every page follows the same process. It is not glamorous, but it is why the lists are usable:

• Write or gather. We draft original lines and gather well-known wordplay, sorted by where you would actually use it — a birthday card needs something different from a dive photo.
• Read every line out loud. This is the step that matters most. A pun that looks clever on screen often dies when spoken. If it does not earn a groan or a grin, it gets cut.
